The Club Golf is a place to find playing partners, run friendly side games, share your rounds, and celebrate the game. To keep it welcoming for everyone, we ask all members to follow these guidelines. These rules are in addition to our Terms of Service.
The Basics
- Be respectful. Treat every golfer the way you'd want to be treated on and off the course.
- Be honest. Real name, real handicap, real photo. No impersonation.
- Be safe. Meeting new golfers is part of the fun — always meet at the course, and trust your instincts.
Not Allowed
- Harassment or bullying — repeated unwanted contact, targeted attacks, or intimidating behavior.
- Hate speech — attacks based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or nationality.
- Sexual or nude content — this is a golf app, not a dating app in that sense; keep it PG.
- Violence or threats — including threats against yourself or others.
- Impersonation — pretending to be another person, pro golfer, or public figure.
- Spam or scams — including sports-betting solicitation, MLM pitches, or promotional accounts.
- Self-harm or dangerous content — content that promotes eating disorders, suicide, or other self-harm.
- Illegal activity — including large-scale gambling, drug sales, or anything unlawful.
Tools You Have
Every user has access to two free safety tools, available on every profile, post, comment, direct message, and discover card:
Block
Blocking is silent and mutual. When you block someone:
- They can't see your profile, posts, or matches.
- You won't see theirs.
- Any existing match, follow, or DM thread between you is closed.
- They are not notified.
- You can unblock at any time from Settings → Blocked Users.
Report
Reports are reviewed by our safety team within 24 hours. Choose a category:
- Harassment or bullying
- Hate speech
- Sexual or nude content
- Violence or threats
- Impersonation
- Spam or scam
- Self-harm or dangerous behavior
- Something else
Add any context you can. Reports are confidential — the reported user does not see who submitted the report.
What Happens After a Report
Depending on severity and history, our team may:
- Dismiss the report if it doesn't violate these Guidelines.
- Warn the user.
- Remove specific content (a post, comment, or message).
- Temporarily suspend the account.
- Permanently ban the account.
False or Malicious Reports
Reporting is a shared responsibility — please use it in good faith. Users who submit knowingly false or malicious reports (e.g., to silence someone who disagrees with them) may face action against their own account, up to permanent removal.
Emergencies
If someone is in immediate danger, please contact local emergency services first (911 in the U.S.), then email abuse@theclubgolf.co so we can act on our side.
